The Q2ID Subscription comes with Plug-Ins for InDesign CC 2020, InDesign CC 2019, InDesign CC 2018, InDesign CC 2017, InDesign CC 2015, InDesign CC 2014, InDesign CC, and InDesign CS6 on macOS and Windows. Q2ID for macOS can convert QuarkXPress 4 though QuarkXPress 2018 documents. That is support for files dating back to 1997, 20 years ago.
Q2ID converts QuarkXPress 4 through QuarkXPress 2019 documents into an editable InDesign document, without having the QuarkXPress application. That gives you the ability to convert over 20 years worth of QuarkXPress files to Adobe InDesign.
What Is Converted
Page Positioning
The conversion process will maintain each element’s page position and z-index (depth order).
Layers
Layers created in QuarkXPress will be recreated in InDesign.
Linked Text Boxes
Linked text boxes will be recreated in the new document. Differences between the QuarkXPress and InDesign text layout engines will likely cause the text to split between the linked boxes differently.
Runarounds
Although there are differences in the runaround settings between QuarkXPress and InDesign, you will find that the automatic conversion process is highly accurate.
Style Sheets
Both Paragraph and Character Style Sheets are maintained through the conversion process. Years of team perfecting the conversion process ensures that all style data is copied over.
Images
Placed image data is retained. If images are missing they can easily be replaced.
Note: Requires QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign.
