Overview
Call of Duty Rio Mod is a user-made modification for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, that allows players from all around the world to transport themselves to the dangerous favelas of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Centered around the combat encounters between cops and drug dealers, this comprehensive full game modification provides gamers with a wide array of new tactical challenges, custom weapons, eye-catching locations, and an immersive atmosphere.
The visual style and general atmosphere of this game mod are focused on recreating two pieces of popular media – the famous movie Elite Squad that pinned special police forces against unforgiving forces of organized crime, and the inspiring COD mod, Frontlines Forever that introduced many gameplay enhancements that were not present in the base game.
The gameplay of the mod is centered on the multiplayer matches set in Rio, with brand new game match types (such as the innovative Boca de Fumo game type that puts a nice spin on the traditional Headquarters game mode) and the completely remodeled Favela map from COD4 that was redesigned to look like Rio.
The atmosphere inside this mod is greatly enhanced with many small additions that bring to the forefront the rich history of Rio de Janeiro, such as background local music, football matches playing on the in-game TVs, and unstable weather that can destabilize the flow of the match when a full storm envelops the multiplayer match.
