Overview
If you own an Epson multifunctional printer with a scanner or merely a separate Epson scanner device, you may notice that performing certain functions are rather inconvenient to do. It may be better to have more accessibility close by, right?
There is an application called the Epson Event Manager Utility which makes it easier to manage your scanner’s functions. In fact, you can control these functions right from your desktop because the utility appears in your system tray. You can simply access that to control the functions of the scanning device.
System Tray
The application won’t exhaust too many of your system’s active resources because it is reduced to the system tray. That way, you can access the tool only when you need it by right-clicking on the corresponding icon in the system tray. However, don’t expect a big menu to show up because only a few options are available. These options let you do things like activate the event management tool and hide the icon so that it doesn’t show up in the system tray.
Best Time to Use
Hardware buttons can be found on certain scanner models. These buttons let you do things like select the format of the output file and email the file after it’s created from the scan.
Be aware of certain Epson scanners with faulty hardware buttons. You may press a button and then experience a delay before the action is executed. In some cases, there may not be any noticeable action on the screen. Fortunately, you can use the Epson Event Manager Utility to fix this problem.
Epson Compatibility Only
Since it’s an Epson Event Manager Utility, this means it’s only compatible with scanners of the Epson brand. The reason for this is that other scanner brands have different configurations, which means this utility won’t work with those. Although, there are even some Epson scanner models that are not compatible with this utility either. If you look at the documentation for the program, it does not include which models are actually compatible.
Overall, this utility could help you out if you’ve installed a scanner, but certain hardware buttons don’t work properly, such as the “Scan to PC” or “Scan to Email” buttons.
Convenient Tool for Epson Scanners
The Epson Event Manager Software can save you time and effort by allowing you to utilize the true power of your Epson scanner.
