Overview

Google Workspace (formerly known as Google Apps and G Suite) is a collection of productivity, collaboration, and cloud computing web applications and services developed by Google. Originally launched in 2006 under the name Google Apps, this cloud-hosted productivity suite unified popular Google services such as Gmail, Contacts, Calendar, and several others under a single package, available for free to any web user with an active Google user account.
Today, more than 15 years after it originally appeared on the market, Google Workspace is home to a wide array of Google cloud products such as Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, Google Forms, Google Keep, interactive whiteboard Jamboard, Google Drive, Gmail, and many others.

Accessible for free from any modern browser Google Workspace for Windows PC allows everyone, including educational organizations, businesses of all sizes, and multinational organizations to embrace fully cloud-powered, collaborative, and ever-expanding productivity tools developed by Google. Schools and educational organizations also have access to the special Education version of Google Workspace. As of June 2021, Google Workspace even unlocked its premium features previously available only to paid subscribers to everyone with a Google Account.

The Starter plan that every Google user has access to includes 30 GB of free storage space, and email addresses with a custom domain, 24/7 email and phone support, and full access to the large suite of Google web apps. Premium users can unlock additional features such as 5TB of storage space, audits and advanced reports, advanced admin controls, and much more.

The entire platform is heavily secured again unauthorized access to user’s data, which is heavily encrypted and not scanned for any kind of internal Google use (such as advertising). Furthermore, Google Workspace acknowledges that all the data that companies, schools, and government organizations use on this service does not belong to Google and will never access or sell it to 3rd parties.

In addition to the free access to billions of Google account users worldwide, Google Workspace has managed to attract 6 million paying Businesses who have transformed their daily operations with collaborative Google tools, and over 120 million active Education users with access to the comprehensive Google Classroom platform.
