Overview
MotoGP 08 is the official motorcycle racing video game of the MotoGP racing championship. Featuring all the official tracks, bikes and drivers, and countless other elements of the real MotoGP racing you can see on your television sets during live races, this game very successfully translates the skilled, fast, and adrenaline-filled racing experience of fast motorcycle racing.
It features a full set of Yamaha, Honda and Ducati bikes (including a full set of 125cc and 250cc support classes), a long and detailed singleplayer campaign, various solo play modes such as Championship and Quick Race, ability to create your own driver or step into the shoes of famous international drivers, and a full online mode. The game rendering engine has received significant upgrades, enabling gamers PC gamers to experience one of the best-looking PC racing games on their platform at the time of the game’s release. Today, more than a decade after it was released to the public, MotoGP 08 is still a visually appealing game that can be easily played on even moderately equipped PCs. This even includes modern laptops that can but don’t need to have, a dedicated GPU for rendering advanced visuals.
While the PC gamers can extract maximum from MotoGP 08 visuals (which cannot be done on a wide variety of other console gaming platforms that this game was released on in late 2008), it is definitely recommended that PC gamers play this game with a gamepad. While keyboard controls are present and can be customized for easier play (the default setting is “A” for acceleration, “S” for braking, and “Arrow” keys for steering), the fast and agile bikes are best controlled via precise analog stick movements on gamepads. The game can be played from both first-person camera mode which promotes increased immersion and sense of speed, and the third person camera that showcases more environment around the player and stabilizes the gameplay a bit decreased sense of speed.
MotoGP 08 is optimized for all versions of Microsoft Windows OS, starting with Windows XP and including all newer versions up to Windows 10 and the latest Windows 11.
