Overview
Shadow Fight 2 for PC is an arcade fighting game born on mobile platforms that have arrived at PC in style. It allows the player to fight against a wide number of opponents in combat gameplay that is distinctive enough to make it unique.
While many other popular fighting games utilize fast-paced and very responsive gameplay that is best suited to be controlled with gamepads or arcade sticks, Shadow Fight 2 is slower, measured, and careful, demanding from players to go through a period of adjustment after which they will find themselves more than ready to defeat any opponent they face. In fact, the features just two buttons (punch and kick) which can be combined with the movement buttons to activate various special moves and combos.
Its origin on the mobile platforms can be easily be spotted with the presence of numerous in-app purchases for unlocks and bonuses, which are today commonplace for the vast majority of free to play games on the market. The story is also non-existent, pushing players to just fight against opponents and earn coins that can be used to unlock new protective armors, weapons, and other items inside the game.
The most frustrating point of its F2P heritage is the energy meter that drains after every fight, eventually forcing the player to either stop with the gameplay for a while or to pay to replenish this energy. This is a clear example of the game that was created for play on the commute on a mobile device. However, on the PC platform, this energy meter makes the game frustrating to play and not compelling to be played for long periods of time.
Shadow Fight 2 is a competent FREE arcade fighting game, with above-average 2D graphics and sound, lots of content and challenge to be found, but is limited with its F2P monetization mechanics. The game is optimized for Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11.
