Overview
SnipIT is a browser add-on for legacy versions of the Internet Explorer browser that introduce a streamlined way to create and send emails without the need to switch to any other application. Built from the ground up to provide a fast and reliable way of email creation directly from any web browsing session, this tool has proven itself as one of the easiest ways anyone can increase their productivity and optimize their workflow. The app is most suitable for users who often discover some online text that they want to forward to their friend, family member, colleague, or client via email. Simply highlight the text in the browser tab, right-click, and pick the desired email client.
The best thing is that even though on the surface this app offers limited functionality, it still manages to surprise with the built-in support for more than one email client. While it can automate the email creation procedure using the local Outlook email clients, it can also integrate itself with popular email web client Gmail. If the user has not set which client it wants to use or has not yet added its username/password credentials, the app will ask for it.
Since it is intended to be used together with Internet Explorer, the SnipIT comes in the form of an addon that does not feature its own user interface. Instead, it just becomes part of the browser and is accessible anytime you select a text (no matter if it is a word, phrase, sentence, paragraph, or even larger). Just right click on a selected text, and the new options “Send Using Gmail” and “Send Using Outlook” will be present in the dropdown menu. Clicking on those options will automatically move you to the email messaging client where your selected text will already be present in the body of the email. The only thing that remains for the copied text to be sent is to add the recipient’s email address, add an email title, and press on the “Send”. Simple, fast, reliable, and easily integrated into the workflow of both home, school, and work users.
It is important to note that this browser extension is intended to be used only on the Internet Explorer browser on older versions of Microsoft Windows OS. The addon is NOT compatible with the newly introduced Edge browser, which replaced the legacy Internet Explorer app in Windows 10/11. The addon also is not capable of interacting with other lesser-known email clients (both local and online) and is therefore limited to a very few compatible email platforms.
SnipIT is 100% FREE and is optimized for work on the Windows XP and Vista operating system.
